Select 'turn off screen,' and your Nest Hub will never bother you again in the dark with its screen glow—that is, unless you say "Ok Google." You can also select a default option on the same screen where you linked your account. If a default option is selected, you will not be required to state the service’s name. Once you’ve linked these accounts you can control them all from your Google Home-connected devices. Any audio device can be linked, which includes the Chromecast Audio devices and Chromecast built-in speakers. The most difficult part is probably just knowing that it exists.

With your Nest Hub (1st gen) or Nest Hub Max
If you dismiss cards for remote playback sessions on other speakers or smart displays, you don't end the playback session. When you’re ready, you can end the playback session on the remote device, or you can retrieve the media controls through the Media page. Or, on the Home control page, tap the “Speakers and TVs” card to control media that plays on any device in your home.
The Google Home Hub also has an Ambient EQ. This means that it adjusts with the room. If you turned off the lights, the screen will dim. Once completed, you’ll be able to activate streaming through these services with nothing more than your voice. Simply say “OK Google, play [insert song/station] on .” From there, Google Home will begin playback.
Can you customize the Google Home Hub at all?
By default, Shopping list is linked to your shopping lists in Google Keep app. As explained in Google Home setup guide, you can only choose one from the list because this will be the default one. If you cannot find your Google Home in the list, you should check the LED lights color in the device. This means if you have more than one Google Home device, you only need to customize Google Assistant for Google home once. The customization will be applied to all Google Home devices automatically.
If you don’t have handy access to your Google Home app under the right account, you can choose to change the settings on the smart display itself. Routines are actually one of the most powerful features you can use on the Google Home platform, so they're really worth checking out. Google has some ready-made ones you can play with, too, like the popular "Good morning" routine that will tell you the news of the day, the weather, and more. They're not as powerful or customizable as something like Tasker, but they can bring a lot of convenience to your smart display or speaker.
How to Customize the Google TV Home Screen

It’s available on both a Nest Hub (firmware 1.44) and Home Mini (firmware 1.42) that we checked this evening. These new Nest Hub personalization and notification settings also require thelatest Google Home app (2.15 or 2.16+) and are currently only on Android. If there's something you can't do with your Nest Hub on its own, there's a chance it could be done with IFTTT. Change what Google Assistant calls you
As mentioned, you can customize Google Home news feed. And any changes would affect all Google Home devices. Under device type level settings (marked as 9-16 in the screenshot below), you can change Google Assistant settings for all Google Home devices. Your guests can use certain features of Google Home, e.g., casting audio to Google Home, if guest mode is enabled in Google Home. As shown above, you can tap the menu button , then tap Settings to access Google Home settings.
Select “See All” for the full list if your app isn’t showing. If you've only plugged in your Home Hub and haven't gone digging into the app, there are a bunch of options and features you don't know about. App isn't all that much help either, since it isn't exactly easy to navigate, and many settings are hidden deep in menus. In the Nest device screen, look at the upper right for the Settings button, which looks like a gear icon. The main catch is that each phrase can only execute one action, unless you sign up for IFTTT Pro, which gives you unlimited applets and the option to create multiple actions from one trigger.
For most actions, you can control the screen with your hands or your voice. On the home screen, you should see a list of your currently connected devices. Select your Nest Hub device from this list by tapping on its icon. There are a few different options you can play around with on this menu, but the one we're looking for here is the 'During low light' setting.
However, the specific devices can only be found in Google Home app. You can use Google Home to control linked smart devices, e.g.,Nest Thermostat, Philips Hue. In addition, the specific Google Home device whose settings are to be customized should be powered on and connected to the WiFi network.
